What I’m about to show you is my absolute favorite red lip color!

But first, my story. Or gripe, or complaint, or whatever you want to call it. Here goes.

A few decades ago, in my young days, most of the reds would change to an unflattering shade on me and I had to mix different lipsticks to get this exact color red. What I mean is, I used a black lipstick from Halloween to darken all my red lipsticks and it was such a pain because it was time consuming to get right and I couldn’t just put the one tube in my pocket and go. I had to layer the not-perfect red and Halloween black and blend it with a lip brush. I liked using lip brushes but I didn’t want to carry a lip brush and two tubes of lipstick in a small pocket and I didn’t wear any makeup other than lipstick at the time so a makeup bag would’ve been useless. And if I wanted something really nice and near perfect in one tube, I had to pay a lot. That wasn’t happening because I didn’t have a job and I wasn’t even old enough to work. Ok, maybe I was old enough to work but I was lazy. Still am, but whatever. All you young ones are so lucky today with your affordably huge selection of lip colors. But now I’m lucky too because I have THIS.

This is Jeffree Star’s Velour Liquid Lipstick in Wifey. PERFECT RED.

It goes on liquidy shiny but it dries matte.

This lipstick was a Christmas gift from my Darling Child. Then shortly after Christmas it wasn’t listed on JS’s website and I was afraid I would never get to buy it again if I used it up. So for my birthday Darling Child bought this set called Family Collection because it has Wifey, and a few other very nice colors. I have a back up now so I can wear this red all the time!
