No photo shoot this year. But I did finally get my family together to go to Factory Obscura after all these years.

The current theme is called Mix Tape and it’s in a different building than the previous installations. We went on a Sunday and that was a smart decision because it wasn’t crowded. It’s not a very big place but you do want to take in all the little details and you can’t do that when someone is in line in front of you or behind you. Shoving the front people out of your way and yelling at the back people to get off your trunk isn’t something you’re supposed to do so going when there is less people is much better.

I think I just like this place because they have disco balls.

You can touch things! Gently, but still if you’re one who likes to feel textures, this is the place for you. Quite a few things are interactive so it’s fun to see what you can mess with and what they will do. The lights are also a bit flashy in some areas but not so bad that you can’t get past it.

The stairs I’m climbing on lead up to a platform and a tunnel you can crawl or in my case just walk through and it leads to another fun hallway.
There’s a phone booth area with a camera connected to similar place in another state (you can see and wave to each other) and then there are the SLIDES!
They also have little shows here on some nights, so there’s a stage in the back. There are pillows scattered all over it so you can nap if you start feeling hypnotized by the weird background noise they play during your regular visit.

There’s a neat gift shop next to the entrance but if you wait until you exit the fun area then you’ll walk right into it.

Afterwards we went across the street to eat at S&B Burger Joint. I got a free shake because I’m me. Just kidding, it’s what you get free for your birthday. Thanks to Kaylee for asking!
