One Summer Day

Once upon a time I went to Tulsa and visited a museum and then my favorite coffee shop in the whole world and then to a restaurant and lost a breadstick.

The Philbrook Museum of Art is located in a really nice neighborhood in Tulsa and that is because it used to be SOMEONE’S HOUSE!

Imagine being a lazy person in bed and wanting a snack and you have to walk like a block to the kitchen! Plus some stairs. You’ll always get your steps in, I guess. But you finally get to the kitchen and then you’re too tired to walk back to your bed. What would you do? Legit question. I would hire a chef to deliver my homecooked food and snacks to my bedroom because chances are that’s where I’ll be playing my video games.

Here are some paintings and things inside and then we’ll get to the massive garden outside.

Pueblo Indian Family, Bert Geer Phillips
The Pool of Tears, Salvadore Dali
Wood Choppers, Max Weber
Toshiko Takaezu (front and background)
A lot bigger than it looks
Sabrina Gschwandtner, Wave Hill Sunroom

Quilt patterns (above) always catch my attention. And her name is spelled correctly.

This would be helpful in today’s world for your next day outfit and accessories.

Nice paintings, strange paintings, mixed media, weapons and armor, and of course garbage. Can’t have art without some trash.

More like recycle
What I say about garbage (left)? That is a very nice painting though. Looks like a Magic: The Gathering card.

Speaking of garbage, not that this next painting is, even though it’s actually in the painting, but I was all, “Whoa, look, they have the same hand soap as me!” It’s Mrs Meyers Clean Day!

Bathroom, gross. I cropped the toilet and almost cropped that scary kid too.
Plum Berry or Peony? He might get his ankles bit by some little monster but at least he’ll enjoy washing his hands.

It really takes some restraint to not run around the house. Other people are there and they ruin fun.

Would these doors survive a zombie attack?

Let’s go outside now. And if you’re not embarrassed, you could wear these wings or roll down a hill.

Or bring your own next time!
Window obsession. View from inside an air conditioned room.

Views from outside in the awful heat.

It’s tempting to play in it.

My obsession with Evil Queen looking flowers and plants.

The backyard goes on and on…

Art trees
Ha, what I say about rolling down a hill?
BLACK WATER

It’s not really black, but what is it? My guess is it’s an Evil Queen fountain so it just looks that way.

On to my fav coffee shop.

I hate people but I love that there are people who love everyone.

They did some redecorating so it doesn’t look like a place out of Harry Potter anymore.

Still not smiling. Probably because I hate people.
